LAND TRUST DAY CAMPS


Earth Explore Camp
Who: All kids 6-11
What: An exciting hands-on day camp exploring our natural world through observation and investigation. Hiking, bird watching, pond life study, storytelling, games and nature-based art projects, inspire and teach through a week packed with fun activities!
When: June 16-20, 8:15am to 12:30pm daily
Where: Burton Homestead 16200 Lake Vera Purdon Road, Nevada City
Cost: $85.00 (Includes healthy snacks and drinks)
To bring: Jacket for early morning, hat, layered clothing, close-toed shoes, bug
repellent, sun protection,
and water bottle.

Maidu Ways Camp
Who: All kids 6-11
What: Building on a basis of love and respect for nature, kids will expand their perspective with a day camp inspired by the ways of local native peoples. The natural world meets history and ancient culture in an array of activities designed to engage the mind and body as they hike and explore this fascinating site, while celebrating through native dance, music, and crafts!
When: June 23-27, 8:15am to 12:30pm daily
Where: Burton Homestead 16200 Lake Vera Purdon Road, Nevada City
Cost: $85.00 (Includes healthy snacks and drinks)
To bring: Jacket for early morning, hat, layered clothing, close-toed shoes, bug repellent, sun protection, and water bottle.

Junior Counselor Training
Who: All kids 13-17
What: An opportunity to serve as a counselor at the day camps listed above. Junior counselors will assist senior staff in camp activities and gain valuable leadership experience. Join us an help to instill a lifelong love of nature and our natural heritage in a great group of enthusiastic young campers. Some experience with outdoor programs and children a plus, motivation and a can-do attitude a must!
When: June 16-27, M-F, 8:00am to 1:00pm daily
Where: Burton Homestead 16200 Lake Vera Purdon Road, Nevada City
Cost: None, this is a volunteer program. Snacks and drinks provided.
To bring: Jacket for early morning, hat, layered clothing, close-toed shoes, bug repellent, sun protection, and water bottle.
