This
loop trail is located on the 40 acre Adam Ryan Preserve, southwest
of the Dog Bar Road and Alta Sierra Drive intersection. This
loop trail is approximately 1 mile in length. It was constructed
in 2003 by volunteers from the Nevada County Land Trust and
the Alta Sierra Property Owners Association. The Alan Thiesen
Trail passes through a forest of California black oak and
ponderosa pine and manzanita, and hill-sides covered with
blackberry, poison-oak, and Scotch broom.
Caution
Please stay on the trail to avoid trespassing on the private
golf course.
Easement Access
The Alan Thiesen Trail provides access to the foot path leading
to Mathis Pond, a Nevada County Land Trust public easement,
located near the corner of Dog Bar Road and Carrie Drive.
Parking
Limited parking is available across Alta Sierra Drive on Dog
